The school district was notified that two students and one staff member at DHS, two staff members at DMS, and a district staff member have tested positive for COVID-19. We are not attaching the public notices today because we are a bit out of sync on the release of information with County Emergency Management. Because our staff and families have been so good about communicating with us, we know about positive cases before the official notice is posted. We want to get information out as soon as we can.
Because of precautionary measures taken, unless they are family, there will be no student quarantines as a result of contacts at school.
Please don't call the schools, as the schools will not have information that can be shared regarding these positive cases. The district will be as transparent as possible while protecting the privacy of our staff and students. Schools are taking all required precautions to mitigate the spread of coronavirus. We urge everyone in our community to follow health and safety guidelines as we are seeing a recent spike in cases.
Families, please continue to be vigilant in screening students at home and monitoring students' health. Please keep your kids home if not feeling well. Also, it’s important during this time to support those who are ill and those in quarantine. Let’s stick together as a community. Thanks so much for your cooperation and partnership.
