The school district was notified that one DMS student and one staff member at DPS have tested positive for COVID-19. We are attaching only one public notice as the other has not been released yet. Because our staff and families have been so good about communicating with us, we sometimes know about positive cases before the official notice is posted.
Students who were in close contact with the middle school student have already been contacted. We do not anticipate any student quarantines as a result of the DPS positive staff member.
Please don't call the schools, as the schools will not have information that can be shared regarding these positive cases. The district will be as transparent as possible while protecting the privacy of our staff and students. Schools are taking all required precautions to mitigate the spread of coronavirus. We urge everyone in our community to follow health and safety guidelines as we are seeing a recent spike in cases.
Families, please continue to be vigilant in screening students at home and monitoring students' health. Please keep your kids home if not feeling well. Also, it’s important during this time to support those who are ill and those in quarantine. Let’s stick together as a community so our kids can stay in school in person. Thanks so much for your cooperation and partnership.
