Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How is attendance tracked and marked?
A. Students are marked Present two different ways:
- They are physically present in the classroom (which appears as blank).
- OP (Off-site Present): they are off-site due to quarantine, isolation, or homebound services (to name a few reasons). The student must login to the their assigned Canvas courses by 3:00 pm on the school attendance day to be marked OP.
Students are marked with an absent code if:
- They are physically absent from the classroom.
- If they are an off-site students, they did not login to Canvas by 3:00 pm on the school attendance day.
There are a variety of absent codes. If your child is marked U (Unexcused Absent), then contact the school as soon as possible to provide an absence reason.
Q: What if I can't remember my parent portal login?
A: Call your child's school and the portal password or login can be reset. You will be asked for personally identifiable information to verify your identity.
