Welcome

We truly believe that participation in co-curricular activities enriches the high school experience and provides numerous opportunities for personal growth and development. Many of the character traits required to be successful participants are exactly those that will promote a successful life after high school. We encourage your child to take advantage of as many opportunities his or her time and talent will permit. We do not encourage specialization in one sport or activity; rather, we would encourage students to experience a variety of sports as well as other school activities.

Restricted Activity Attendance

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and recent updated state and Wyoming High School Activities Association (WHSAA) requirements, Douglas High School and Douglas Middle School athletic and activity events will not be open to students and the general public.  State Department of Health and WHSAA guidelines will only allow 100 spectators or 25% of seating capacity, whichever is smaller, to view events.  With these new guidelines the Absaraka Conference athletic directors have developed protocols to allow limited visitor and home spectators to family and close friends.  There will also be strict viewing protocols which include wearing face masks at all times, restricted seating areas, no food or beverage in the gymnasium, and the clearing of the gym between contests. The WHSAA has also instituted sanctions for schools where the new requirements are not followed. These sanctions can lead to teams being ineligible for post-season play; therefore, it’s imperative that those who do attend events adhere to the requirements. Additional guidelines will be posted on the Bearcat Activities website, Facebook page, and Instagram site.  Douglas Activities has purchased a site license for free broadcasting of home contests that can be accessed at NFHS Network for the varsity gym and is working on providing games in the back gym via Facebook Live.  All questions can be directed to the Activities Office at 358-4040.

Tickets for the Boy's 3A NE Quadrant Basketball Tournament will go on sale this afternoon.  Tickets are $4 for students and $6 for adults.  The games will be played on Thursday March 4th with the Bearcats playing at 1:00 pm.  Tournament brackets and further information can be accessed at WHSAA.org.  If you have any questions, please call the Activities Office at

358-4040.
