Parent Volunteer Information
Dear DPS Families,
At Douglas Primary School, we are so thankful for the partnership of our parents and guardians. Your involvement helps create meaningful learning experiences for our students and strengthens the Bearpaws community spirit we value so deeply.
Before beginning any volunteer work at DPS, all volunteers are required to complete two important steps to ensure student safety and district consistency:
Watch the CCSD#1 Parent Volunteer Orientation Video
Please take a few minutes to view the short orientation video created by Converse County School District #1. This video explains our volunteer expectations, safety protocols, and the important role volunteers play in our schools.Complete the Volunteer Registration Form
After watching the video, please fill out the district’s Volunteer Form. This form collects your contact information and ensures we have completed all necessary checks before scheduling your volunteer time.
Once both steps are completed, please allow 48 hours before scheduling to discuss expectations and next steps. This short conversation helps ensure that every volunteer opportunity aligns with classroom needs and provides a safe, positive experience for our students. After this discussion, volunteers will coordinate directly with their student’s teacher to schedule times to help in the classroom or at school events.
Volunteer Times:
Parents may volunteer at DPS during regular school hours, Monday through Thursday, between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. These hours allow us to maintain consistent instructional routines while welcoming parent involvement in our classrooms and school activities. (This does not apply to field trips.)
We are grateful for your time, commitment, and care for our young learners. Your involvement truly makes a difference.
If you have any questions, please contact the DPS office at (307) 358-3502.
With appreciation
