Starting this November, we’re launching a brand-new Parent Involvement Fridays experience! 🐾
Each week, a different group of families will be invited to join us for:
✨ Our legendary morning assembly — full of music, movement, and Bearpaws pride!
🥣 Breakfast and Morning Meeting — spend time in your child’s classroom, sharing breakfast and connecting before the day begins.
Because our gym can only hold so many paws at once, each family will be invited on a different Friday by your child’s teacher — but we promise, every family will have their turn!
➡️ Limit: 2 guests per family due to space.
📅 Specific dates and details will be announced soon!
We can’t wait to celebrate the joy, laughter, and connection that make every morning at DPS so special. 💙❤️🐾

Important Update for CCSD1 Families
Beginning October 20, CCSD1 will transition to LiveSchool for our behavior tracking and rewards system.
After testing behavior tracking through Rooms, we found that the reporting features did not provide the level of clarity and detail needed by our teachers and families. LiveSchool offers a more robust and transparent system for tracking student behavior, while also allowing students to earn rewards for positive actions and choices.
This change will help strengthen communication between school and home and support a positive learning environment for all students.
LiveSchool access codes and setup instructions will be distributed to families by classroom teachers to assist with account setup and ensure a smooth transition.

Even though our afternoons have been warming up, the mornings are still quite chilly—especially during recess. Please ensure your child comes to school with a warm coat daily. Layers are an excellent idea for staying comfortable as the temperature changes throughout the day.

During this session, the team developed a strategic plan placemat outlining the proposed mission, vision, values, goals, and objectives for the district.
This placemat will be presented during our upcoming vetting sessions, where we’ll gather input and feedback from multiple stakeholders that represent not only our district but also our community. All stakeholder insights are essential to shaping our strategic plan, and we encourage your active participation. We cordially invite you to participate in one of these sessions scheduled in the Central Administration boardroom on October 1st or 2nd, 2025.

This morning at 9:00 AM, DPS students will participate in a scheduled bus evacuation drill. This is only a drill. Students will be supervised and safe the entire time. Classes will ride district buses to the Transportation Department and return to school.

👉 An adult must be present at the bus stop for DPS students to be released.

The release time will be 35 minutes earlier each day. On Monday–Thursday, students will be released at 2:50 PM (instead of 3:25 PM). On Fridays, students will be released at 12:50 PM (instead of 1:25 PM). This change allows your child to get home at an earlier time.
This adjustment means DPS students will now ride their bus separately from all other bus routes. Special Note: If your child needs to wait for a bus with an older sibling or an out-of-town bus, they will remain at DPS and be picked up by those buses at 3:45 PM. Supervision will be provided for your child.
Please remember: the Transportation Department will only release DPS students if an adult is at the bus stop to pick them up. As soon as we receive new bus transportation times, our office staff will contact families to share them with you.

Unfortunately, the phone call displayed an incorrect number (from Little Rock, AR) instead of our Converse #1 phone number. We've corrected this issue and future calls will show the proper number. We also accidentally sent a duplicate message at 3:20 PM. If you did not receive the notifications, please contact your child's school. Thanks again for your understanding as we learn together!
