Douglas is located in east-central Wyoming. Our population from the 2020 census is approximately 6386. Douglas is situated on I-25 between Casper (to the west) to Cheyenne (to the south).

Douglas lies just north of the Medicine Bow Mountain Range with exceptional hunting, fishing, and various other outdoor activities. Laramie Peak is visible throughout the entire community. The North Platte River runs through the middle of town -- a biking and walking trail follows 2.5 miles of the river course.

Glendo State Park
Glendo is only a 30-minute drive from Douglas and offers fishing, boating, camping, and other recreation activities.

Information about Fort Fetterman and the Wyoming Pioneer Museum
The remains of the fort site are a 10-minute drive from town. The Pioneer Museum is in town and has many artifacts and exhibits from the 1800s.

Oregon Trail
The Trail ran right through our county. You'll find historical markers indicating the trail's route. Visit Wyoming Tales and Trails to learn more about the history of Douglas, the Oregon Trail, and Fort Fetterman.
