Staff PTO Leave Guidance

Staff employees will be granted personal time off (PTO) leave. Personal Time Off (PTO) absences will be authorized by the superintendent, or employee's supervisor. All requests for 3 or more consecutive PTO days must be approved by the employee’s supervisor and must be submitted two weeks in advance. If medical, the employee’s medical provider must submit medical documentation if requested.  If medical emergency, the two weeks advance notice is not required.
 
All staff are granted one PTO day for every month worked plus an additional 2 PTO days. Employees shall be entitled to accumulate 85 PTO days. 

Upon leaving the District, if an employee has at least five (5) consecutive years of full-time service in the District, based on the most current hire date, the employee will be paid one-half substitute pay at the current certified daily substitute rate for accumulated PTO days with a maximum of 85 days based on normal work day.  For every year worked above five years, employees will earn an additional 4% of subpay at the current certified substitute rate.  If an employee leaves during the year, the current year’s PTO will be prorated to the actual number of months worked.
