Graduate Credit

Note: Graduate credits have associated fees through the providing University for which you are responsible. 

 

Professional Learning for Targeted Knowledge: This course will consist of targeted training from another provider. Staff will apply the professional learning to a targeted area of their job responsibilities. To receive this credit

  1. Staff must complete the Professional Learning Request Form in Frontline and receive approval from their supervisor and the assistant superintendent. Staff will be responsible for any associated fees for the course and the University of Wyoming (to receive the graduate credit).
  2. Upon approval, staff will be given instruction on how to enroll in the appropriate Professional Learning for Targeted Knowledge (1 credit, 2 credits, or 3 credits) course in WyoLearn.  Note: the course/training must have documentation of the hours.  15 hours=1 credit, 30 hours=2 credits, 45 hours=3 credits.
  3. Staff will complete the training with the provider.
  4. Staff will upload their certificate or transcript in the WyoLearn Canvas to receive credit.
  • When: any training completed between June 1, 2020 and May 15, 2022.
  • Credits: 1-3 (awarded in May, 2022)

  • Available to: All certified and classified staff.

Collaborate with a Coach 2022: This course will be a series of collaborative work sessions.  Teachers will work with an instructional coach to conduct an impact cycle of the teacher’s choice. Teachers will identify the current reality (where they are now relative to what they want), set a student-focused goal, learn high-impact instructional strategies, and improve by turning ideas into action. The course is designed for teachers in grades K-12.  Note: this course is also offered for PTSB credit (see PTSB Credit Opportunities section). Eligible staff may choose PTSB or UW credit.
  • When: As scheduled with instructional coaches
  • Credits: 1 (awarded in May, 2022)

  • Available to: All certified teachers.

Collaborative and Proactive Solutions: This course will be a series of workshops in which teachers work in collaborative teams to understand Dr. Ross Greene’s Collaborative and Proactive Solutions model. Teachers will be expected to apply strategies/ideas from the workshops to their classroom instruction and assessment, receive feedback from and provide feedback to their peers, and use student data to analyze their implementation. The workshop is designed for teachers in grades K-12. Specific topics and activities will vary depending on collaborative team needs, but will include: an increasing understanding and familiarity with the problems causing concerning behaviors in students; the CPS model for non-punitive, non-adversarial, non-exclusionary, and trauma-response discipline. Participants will participate fully in all learning and complete all activities defined in the UWYO Canvas course. Note: this course is also offered for PTSB credit (see PTSB Credit Opportunities section). Eligible staff may choose PTSB or UW credit.
  • When: As scheduled by building principals.
  • Credits: 2 (awarded in May, 2022)
  • Format: as scheduled
  • Available to: All certified staff members on CPS team.
  • Provider: CCSD1
  • How to enroll: This is a spring 2022 course, so UW will release enrollment later in the fall. Attend all sessions and complete all homework as assigned by the trainer.  Check back in December to register for the UW credit.
  • Enrollment closes: January 31, 2021
 
Instructional Response 2022: This course will be a series of workshops, in which teachers collaborate to understand the most effective instructional strategies. Teachers will be expected to apply strategies/ideas from the workshops to their classroom instruction and assessment, receive feedback from and provide feedback to their peers, and use student data to analyze their implementation. The workshop is designed for teachers in grades K-12.  Participants will participate fully in all district professional learning days and complete all activities defined in the UWYO Canvas course.
  • When: 8/17, 9/20, 1/17, 5/2 (8:00 am - 4:00 pm)
  • Credits: 2 (awarded in May, 2022)
  • Format: as scheduled via district communications 
  • Available to: All certified/classified staff and substitutes with PTSB numbers in Frontline
  • Provider: CCSD1
